Set on the edge of the beautiful and historic village of Walkern which has links going back to the Magna Carta and beyond, the Centre facilities include three football pitches, a cricket square and the Jubilee Pavilion.
The Jubilee Pavilion at Walkern Sports and Community Centre (WSCC) houses a licensed bar and provides a fantastic venue for your party celebrations whatever the occasion.
The Pavilion was built in 1977 by the villagers of Walkern on land donated to the village by the Wright family of the once famouse Wright's Brewery, on the proviso that it should be used for sporting and recreational purposes for the residents of Walkern. It has since been held on behalf of the people by the Walkern Parish Council and is currently run by the Walkern Sports and Community Centre Club Committee.
The main building has been extensively refurbished in recent years and the Parish Council have recently secured substantial funding from Sport England enabling the complete refurbishment of the changing room area during 2013. The work is all internal and will not affect the normal running of the hall for parties and events as the changing rooms are separated from the main hall.
WSCC has a thriving membership with many member only events planned for 2013 and beyond. Currently membership is free to residents of the Parish of Walkern. If you are interested in taking up your free membership OR you live outside the parish and are interested in becoming a member please complete the application form and hand in at the club for committee approval - Membership Application Form
